Tired of misleading cookie banners? The EU Commission has finally proposed a solution: set your privacy preferences in the browser once, and never see another banner. Unfortunately, the tracking industry is pushing back – and so far, they’ve been successful. We need YOUR help to #KillTheCookieBanner!
This exists as a plugin already, for those who want to live in the future: https://consentomatic.au.dk/
For those wondering who’s behind it: University of Aarhus in Denmark
I’m all for this, don’t get me wrong; but please educate yourself: you can be tracked without cookies: https://belibre.be/cookies/ (a fork that translated https://kuber.studio/cookie/).
If tracking is made illegal, only criminals will track you.
Oh nice, good thing Meta etc would never do anything illegal!
And it will rid us of those annoying cookie banners. I block cookies in the browser, so I see the same banners again and again.
