“New Mexico officials are talking to FedEx and UPS about using their companies to deliver mail ballots instead of the Postal Service, said Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver (D),” reported The Washington Post’s Patrick Marley and Justin Jouvenal on Sunday. “The cost would be manageable because the state sends out a relatively small number of mail-in ballots, she said. ‘We are still planning for plan B in a worst-case scenario,’ she said. ‘There are other ways to deliver ballots.’”

Kinda sucks that the USPS is diminished either way. Even if we nip this creeping fascism in the bud, the price is forcing states to use these private couriers for ballots, further eroding the Postal Service’s reason for existing.
The USPS operates under a Universal Service Obligation to provide mail service to every addressing the US, no matter how remote, and regardless of whether the delivery is part of a profitable route. The irony is that if Republicans suceed in abolishing or privatizing it, Republican voters in rural areas will find themselves paying the true cost of delivery to their locations. Yet again, Republicans vote for politicians who actively work to undermine those voter’s interests.
The need to own the libz. Also women, POC, LGBTQ, etc…honestly, the tribal, cult-like need to hurt others is really their brand. Even if they are repeatedly a shot in the shorts all the time in that process.
Corposhills have been trying to destroy the USPS for years now. They are invested in competitors and don’t like how USPS subsidizes cheaper postage rates. Ironically states resorting to using Fedex and UPS to deliver ballots is exactly what these shills want.
