I expect reddit will roll it out slowly and stop if they’re losing too many users. If they actually follow through and impose age “verification” on everyone it’ll be a bigger exodus than anything seen before — so they probably won’t.
reddit seemed to have lost tons of “traffic” in the past few months, which is why they are implementing the aggressive logins right now. i think it was reported on another forum that it was AI/chatgpt not referencing or scraping reddit anymore in thier summaries, which is the result of reddits ever increaisng filter that was banning people last year. they lost too much people last year as well from indisriminate bannings. so the user generated posts became less usefull, and started to be filled with most AI posting.
