Driving between them takes 5 minutes in a straight line. Safely walking between them, however, is a six-hour diversion through four unrelated towns, as opposed to the 30 or so minutes it would take in a straight line. Thanks to hostile architecture, I guess.
This is a problem I have with Google Maps, who insists that some roads cannot be bicycled upon. Maybe because they’re designated as freeways? Dunno!
But yes, sometimes Google doesn’t have enough information about the pathways that are for other than cars.
I tend to have the opposite problem, where I get recommended to go 3 km along a road with a speed limit twice my maximum speed and only a 2ft sidewalk on one side (that sometimes disappears).
