Interviews with more than two dozen GOP lawmakers, candidates and operatives show a party far from unified on how to handle the president in tough races.
Many privately admit they’re stuck in an uncomfortable spot: By running too far from Trump, Republicans risk alienating the MAGA faithful or the president himself, whose super PAC is sitting on more than $400 million they desperately need deployed to help them win key races. But if the candidates keep Trump close, they could be dragged down by the president, as the unpopular war in Iran has increased costs for Americans across the country.
That’s his grift money though. No way he spends it on someone else.
They make it seem like Iran is the only thing dragging them down. Not AIPAC, dc “beautification” bullshit, cost of living, farming/cattle backstab, tariffs, his age, Epstein files, data centers steamrolling people’s disdain. Every gop member in Congress is culpable, their votes on record and lack of action to control equal power of branches of government remembered. As well as their surrender to the billionaire class fully exposed.
