Some of what they said comes from candid misunderstandings and absence of information, but I did look it up. Lolcow is, indeed, utilized as a slur in current day. I definitely do not want to utilize a word that hits more strays than targets, which is where my appreciation lies.

And I certainly wouldn’t call them a faux leftist. Just someone who was deeply hurt by something and lashing out without regard for any attainable constructive end goal. That was decades of my life, so I see them and I can meet them where I need to be met. Regardless of their intent, I gleaned immensely useful information from them, and I highly value it. Their continued action meets my needs as a person far better than asking them to simmer down, and my comment above is my best attempt at having my needs met.
