      Including auto loans is crazy since those are easily 20k+ these days many cars start at 30k now it’s insane

        … doesn’t really seem like a wise way to get loyal soldiers, but perhaps we’re due for another revolution

          Drafted soldiers were fragging their officers in Vietnam. Better the unit potentially catch a charge back home than everyone get torture-killed in VC pit traps. I imagine you’d see much of the same with a modern conscript army and in fact I’m pretty sure the laundry fires and plumbing failures in the US Navy were just such events.

            Yeah, it’s been morally justifiable for an extremely long time, but the masses are only now beginning to see through the wool.
