Is it just me or captcha systems are struggling to keep it working well after AI boom?
Yesterday I saw a post on Reddit where Cloudflare asked to the user copy and paste a command on PowerShell (or something).
This is becoming extremely invasive, not to say the lack of accessibility for people with disabilities.
I wonder what will be of the internet as AIs become each time better on mimic human behavior.
The site asking them to paste something into powershell was a phishing site mimicking cloudflare to install virus.
no legit site would ever ask you to run a commamand in PowerShell…
that said, captcha has been useless waste of time for years. even before shitty ai
Unless it becomes very illegal to make hostile bots (which will never happen), the internet will be something only accessible through IDs and biometrics.
Hell, if you will.
Yeah, I worry about that. Seems like everything a human can do to prove they’re human, imitation machine learning will be able to look at those inputs and outputs and fake it.
If you can’t have spaces filter out bots (already hard, probably impossible in the future), trust and validity completely go away. Spam will become unmanageable, and in many cases more subtle. Abuse will scale and could become unblockable.
I’m sure there sill be some kind of good ideas to push back, but I’d certainly say I’m pessimistic atm.
