Well. In other words: AI is not AI. It is a scraper that just reuses what it “learned”. The real issue is that people have more and more hard times, to actually spot AI.
The “AI label” or the big social media corps are not working, ofc.
“Causes” or “exposes”? That’s the question.
IMHO, the ivory tower calling itself “culture” is a tomb for quite some time…
Both, we know AI cannot create anything new, hence the churning of slop decelerates any potential progress or pivots. Why innovate or find new meanings if there is no pressure for you to come up with new stuff? AI does it for you from what’s already there.
What I meant is that even before there was AI slop flooding the streets, there already was loads of human slop in “arts”.
Imho „profit” is the main driver of cultural stagnation. If anything and everything has to be profitable — even in arts and science — you cannot be creative.
We need a language that AI cannot understand.
