Tom Homan denies British far-right commentator, who was deported one day after arrest, got preferential treatment

Yiannopoulos’s removal one day after his arrest, when many others who have been deported had first endured lengthy detention center incarcerations, has prompted questions about whether he received preferential treatment in that respect. Homan said the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which oversees ICE, was trying to speed up the deportation process.

DHS had quickly publicized Yiannopoulos’s arrest on Thursday at an airport in New Orleans – where he may have travelled to attend a concert by rapper Ye, formerly Kanye West, on Friday at the city’s Caesars Superdome.

Officials with DHS touted Yiannopoulos’s arrest on Friday. By Saturday morning, Yiannopoulos’s name was removed from a list of people in ICE detention, and DHS confirmed that he had been deported to the UK on Friday – one day after his arrest.

To ICE he’s just another easy statistic. No one else actually cares about the dirtbag, they got rid of him quickly just so they don’t have to deal with him anymore here instead. He’s easily replaceable and he’s already shown he can be a pain in the ass. Get him out of the country, and he can be forgotten.

I guess I’m out of the loop. Did he break formation on one of their issues? I thought he was one of the people responsible for maga happening at all in 2026

You assume they have a problem throwing someone under the bus for no reason. He’s just not useful anymore, no use means no protection. Especially since they can now use him as a data point to “prove” they’re deporting everyone here illegally, even supporters. Just like how fascist outlets like Fox News occasionally have small segments that are accurate or against the narrative, just to point to as some sort of proof that they’re not pure fascist propaganda.

Probably didn’t help he actually did overstay his visa, and did not appear in court as required so he did have an existing deportation order… and also somehow angered Laura Loomer who is one of Trump’s current “advisors”. Seems rather similar to the adage about not committing more than one crime at a time.

Ironically, his deportation is actually a completely accurate and legitimate one with the system working exactly as it should.

Generally they don’t do that to straight(sic) white dudes. Maybe I’m overthinking but it’s sus. I think he’s fucked something up lowkey and deportation is a better outcome for him. Who’s getting deported to the UK? that’s not the point of ICE

He ain’t straight enough for them. I don’t even know how he identifies now but pre trump 1.0 he was out and proud. I think he’s called himself “ex-gay” in recent years. That’s a whole lot of shit they don’t want associated with them. Easy to send him packing.

Ahhh that makes more sense. I guess I had assumed that his born again bit had been positively received. Also this is a good thermometer for where we must be at in the progress of them purging their undesirables. Didn’t the Log Cabin Republican group just get disavowed this week too or something?

All I’ve heard about the Log Cabin is that they’ve sworn to be an LGB Organization, having kicked out Trans Conservatives over concerns that the transes are “going after the kids”

I think the log cabin Republicans just disavowed transgender people actually. Though the log cabin doesn’t exactly get a seat at the table really.

Oh is that what it was? Weird I had no idea they were previously operating under the pretense of being trans inclusive. Oh well, it probably won’t buy them too much time until it’s their turn to stand against the wall
