….it didn’t take long for certain fans to point out that Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – a literacy initiative which has gifted more than 330 million books to children since 1995, and one of Parton’s many philanthropic causes - has been defunded by the Trump administration. … …Now, in one of his latest AI slop posts, Trump took to Truth Social to share an illustration of him arm in arm with Parton walking around the White House.

“Donald Trump faces backlash” if I had a buck for every time I heard that phrase I could buy a house. This phrase has lost all meaning because there’s never any backlash. He’ll just do something worse to distract you from all the other shit he’s done and then you forget.

It’s called a gish gallop. It’s a debate tactic where you just throw as much shock nonsense out as possible as fast as possible. Your opponent (or sane humans in this case) can’t keep up with refutation or reality check. I don’t know if he has the wherewithal to know he’s doing it, but the play is to just overload with bone-chillingly-evil nonsense so some of it slips through.

That’s also the playbook of fascism. Take away so many laws and rights then when one or two get overturned, let them celebrate while you prepare the next batch of laws and rights to strip away.

It’s the firehose of falsehood when it’s used as a form of governance.

He’s a narcissist so he really doesn’t think he can do any wrong. Thinking a narcissist is going to process shame in the same way others will is delusion.

Anyone unfortunate enough to have a narcissist in their life knows that trying to get them to admit to wrongdoing, nevermind apologizing for it, is something that is not likely to happen. It’s the equivalent of dealing with a cornered animal - and usually they are very adept at turning things around on those trying to pin them down, casting themselves as the victims in the process.
