Dutch people cycle an average of 2.6 kilometres each per day. If this pattern was replicated worldwide, the study suggests, annual global carbon emissions would drop by 686 million tonnes.
This mammoth figure exceeds the entire carbon footprint of most countries, including the UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Australia.


Im not saying its the only solution
I 100% agree that functional public transport would be ideal everywhere But I would say its also good to have rhe option to bike. And for places that are really hilly or mountainous, do what other places have done and add bike escalators or tracks so people can still bike but not be dead at the end of it. Down hill is always fun anyway
