Canada is having an awesome time right now with highly educated people jumping ship.

They have also been having a great time with the H1-b crowd because the USA already spent the money to vet them. Which leaves Canada with only the easy stuff left to help them decide to grant these people either a longer term and more stable visa or even citizenship.

I’m constantly seeing ads about moving to Canada. Honestly it might not be such a bad idea. Toronto is a great city.

My partner is a duel citizen and while I like Canada in the summer I have made it clear that me and the cat are not putting up with the cold. Once Hudson’s Bay freezes over it’s super highway for the Arctic weather to come down for a visit.

Also my French Quebec is incomprehensible.

      stable visa or even citizenship.

We should be doing that. The H1-B thing is a scam. If we really cannot find talent locally, then we should grant them citizenship or very long term, stable visa.

Now that we have donnie the dotard and the likes of Stephen Miller threatening to even revoke citizenship though, I would imagine anyone thinking of coming here is definitely thinking twice - that any time some reactionary assholes get into the WH, that their very livelihoods - and even lives - could be at stake.

The h1-b is a prison because they pay lower than industry average wages plus if you quit you have something like 90 days to find a new sponsor. Corporations are not going to sponsor someone who expects to be treated like a human being.
