Inflation in food prices can hit even harder for people in their 60s and older as they also juggle fixed incomes, health problems and changes in federal law. Experts say the age group is a “forgotten population” when it comes to food insecurity.
Food insecurity in my ruby red state just hit 37%. More than 1/3 of the state is fucking hungry! The food banks struggle to keep running, let alone keep pace with demand. People just need that everyday experience to be linked with the republican administration here, but that direct line isn’t clear to people, or they’re disenfranchised enough not to care anymore. Education campaigns are so sorely needed.
