In his ruling, Hittner mentioned Dolly Parton, whose death was announced Tuesday, and criticized the law’s definition of banning performances that “[appeal] to the prurient interest,” citing people who would chastise Parton “as a voluptuous sex symbol because of her big hair, flamboyant clothes and breast exposure.”

My argument against people who don’t like gay marriage: then don’t get gay married. No one is forcing you to be gay. They are just asking to also exist without fear of someone stopping said existence just because they exist.

this is a common sense counter argument, but it’s been used for atleast the last few decades and this prejudice continues to persist nonethelss so i think that makes it clear this “concern” is culture war astroturfing.

the continued existence of this culture war battlefield suggests that combating it at a personal level has a limited impact at best and the astroturfing means that there’s systemic backing for it, so it’s must be combated at there for it to have a lasting impact.

Yeah… I’m still going to tell homophobes to get fucked tho

I can do that while also championing systemic change
