I’m wondering how this actually works. I don’t think our IT team would ever allow it, but even if they did, you’d have to be able to run everything M$ (Teams, excel, etc), onedrive/sharepoint, windows specific software like CAD, Bluebeam, use Chrome-only software like Autodesk stuff -
It seems kind of dumb to even do that, since you’d be locked into that M$ ecosystem anyway. But I’m curious if anyones done it.
Props to you, that would be impossible in places where they force you to take tests with camera and mic on windows only machine, and it cannot be an unactivated windows machine either and no VM. Huuuuuge pita. I’d never do college with Linux. Not to mention solidworks and circuit software doesn’t run in Linux either.
All the tests I have to take are done in person, so that’s a non issue.
And I still rely on a windows machine for CAD.
I see. So no lockdown browser for tests at all? Thats nice.
No tests on a computer so far. AFAIK everything that doesn’t absolutely need a PC is done that way. I have to print my notes every time.
