USAID was a very real CIA front. Can you separate art from the artist which programs were really beneficial, and which weren’t? I can’t and taking aid from possibly poisoned source isn’t so great of an option. Obviously possibly bad help better than none and trump’s motivation to close it isn’t clear for me nor do I want to try to decipher what that person thought at the time.
Yes the CIA did highly questionable shit with USAID, but the entire thing was not some shell company just speaking around black projects or whatever.
We have actual situations where USAID provided genuine harm reduction, or do you think the outbreaks in Africa where going to happen even if USAID didn’t get cuts. More importantly knowing this administration what makes you sure that what’s left of USAID is not the shell company portions the CIA uses?
