I’m not as anti-AI as the rest of this place but I am 100% in favor of being honest about it.
I found a mod passing off AI generated images as authentic, vintage sci-fi covers. I asked why they were mixing them together and was not only banned but they deleted my comment.
What a fucking douche.
I already have him blocked because of his low quality content, so apparently that was good judgment.
His reasoning for creating fake content is that lemmy needs more content.
no dumbass, it needs more quality content to make up for your shitty content.
How about you don’t go to instances where AI is allowed to complain about AI?

I didn’t complain. I didn’t call it slop. I asked a question. I’m not anti-AI, I just want it properly labeled so people know what they’re looking at. Passing off AI generated covers alongside real covers and not distinguishing is just plain dishonest. Claiming to have found them on an old hard drive is a brazen lie.
