    Um, Gen X here…{waves}

    At one point in time, tattoos were mostly confined to military or gangs or what have you.

    I don’t think tattoos have been considered “edgy” in any way since maybe sometime in the 80s? My generation and younger tends to have tons of ink and facial/body piercings…I last remember people clutching their pearls about tattoos/piercings in maybe the early 90s?

      Personally I will judge your tattoos depending on context, looking at you folks with fucking Harry Potter tattoos and fugly ass attempts to do a face. Also piercings irk me on an instinctual level, my brain registers them as injuries and I want to correct them this also applies to earrings, my solution is to avoid looking at them.

      Yup, and we started young. Most of my friends and I got our first ones at around 16-17.

        I didn’t get my first tattoo until my late 20s, but still… Now I think it’s weird if someone doesn’t have a tattoo

          I don’t have any tattoos, but that’s mostly because I can never justify the cost, always feel like I have better things to do with a couple hundred dollars.

            My dad was covered in tats. My mom has a few. It was a totally normal thing my entire life. My siblings have some. Aunts, uncles.

            I don’t have any tattoos because I can’t think of a single solitary thing that I want on my skin permanently.
