Maybe also depending on legislation - e.g. where I’m from, you can demand from the seller that he repairs the defect goods or replaces it for no additional cost. Only after 2 unsuccessful tries, the seller is allowed to refund the money.
This still doesn’t keep sellers from trying to directly refund you, because many people still won’t fight this or know their rights, though…
Louis Rossman dealt with the same from Samsung. Maybe these terms are different but he sent them a legal demand and they paid him market value.
