Knowing this administration, they probably sent the ships ice cream a month ago so that they could point to it later and say “see, the troops are fine. We’re not abusing or neglecting them.”

That’s actually classic narc/abuser behavior. By your kids some ice cream so that you can tell them how spoiled they are when they complain about you beating them or being emotionally unavailable.

I wonder where these assholes learned it…

Ah yes, nothing says “all is well” like eating ice cream. Just ask my fiance when it’s her time of the month.

    Holy shit! Ice cream!?

    In the Faux News administration?

According to fragile little babies like Jesse Watters (who always seems to be midway through a gay panic) it isn’t manly to eat ice cream in public…

If not on a Sunday, ice cream is generally a last ditch effort to prop up fading morale or to soften REALLY bad news.

Don’t they usually give them bulk icecream to eat when they need the space in the freezer for dead people?

I know they do that on cruise ships. I used to work on ships, and we always knew the onboard morgue was full when we got hard ice cream in the mess.

I’d be surprised if it’s not uncommon. Cruise ships tend to skew older. If they mostly did cruises that catered towards elderly vacationers, I can see more than a few of them just buying it just from the law of averages.

Thing about logistics is that it’s basically that one joke from Life of Brian: “what have the Romans done for us lately?” Doesn’t matter what things were like last month, what matters is what things are like now. And right now things in CENTCOM look pretty bad.

I mean… It’s less nonsensical than the original food pyramid. The original one was based on bad science funded by food companies

But a few years back they made that one with vertical slices that not only was a better application of the metaphor, it was backed by better understanding of nutrition. This is certainly a step backwards from that

It’s like that with most of the MAHA stuff… There’s a grain of truth in a lot of it, but then you keep reading and you’re like wtf did I just read

I hate how after years of pestering democrats to reclassify psychedelics and fund more medical research, suddenly it’s fucking maga repugs who are saying they’re gonna do it. The fucking party of nixon and reagan.

I almost don’t want them to, because I don’t want there to be anything I have to begrudgingly agree with them on…

Also whatever they do is likely to be botched anyway. And the attachment to their names will make the topic toxic in progressive spaces. I wonder if that’s their plan. To make it uncool.

          Fucking bastards.
