    What’s really scary is how little coverage these cameras/this company/these stories get in Europe.

    Very, very little, if any. I don’t think that I’ve seen it heard anything other than what I see on Lemmy.

        I’m not the most up to date on the news, but I’ve seen no coverage at all about Flock here in Sweden. Palantir is more widely known, because our military is making use of the tech, as is Polisen.

        I’ve seen a couple of surveillance towers in my town. It’s hellishly dystopian.

        Edit: So an article came out today saying that they’re going to implement real time face detection systems. Great!

        I haven’t seen them mentioned once in any of the media. That doesn’t mean that they haven’t been, it is just likely that any mention of them is a small story that could easily be glossed over.
