As Karoline Leavitt prepares to step down from her role as Donald Trump’s fifth White House press secretary, a brief review of her tenure, and that of her predecessors, makes clear that the most fabulist president in US history prizes one quality above all else in the women and men who speak for him: a willingness to tell outrageous lies.
Leavitt started her tenure by telling a wild falsehood at her very first news conference, when she claimed that the Biden administration had planned to use $50m in taxpayer dollars to send condoms to Gaza. Later the same day, the Guardian reported that the claim was directly contradicted by USAID records.
That’s a really hard bar to set. They’ve told some massive lies about the worst imaginable things with completely straight faces.
what’s that rule/law? if the headline asks a question, the answer is ‘No’?
Betteridge’s law of headlines IIRC.
yep: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betteridge’s_law_of_headlines
It will be Scott Jennings. None of them are good liars because every good lie is based in truth and MAGA is against facts, science, medicine, literacy, government, etc so nothing say even makes sense with any part of reality.
The point of being a good liar is that you can sell things that aren’t true.
Which she did expertly
That is a very good point!
But they aren’t good liars. If I tell you I’m the smartest person alive and no one believes me, I’m not a good liar. If I remain in a position where you have to listen to me tell you I’m the smartest person alive over and over, I’m still not a good liar.
None will compare to Sara Huckleberry Sandwich.
Spicer? The Mooch? Both easily comparable to Huckleberry Sanders.
Probably not as good as her but enough for their hand picked press room.
They’re repubes. So yes. They will be a liar
That was not the question posed, it asked if they will be a better liar, than the first five press secretaries was.
she’ll be blonde blue eyed that’s for sure
No.
