      If you’re smart, amoral, and poor, you’ll espouse Marxism because it’s in your class interest. If you then get rich, you’ll espouse capitalism, because that becomes your class interest. Having no beliefs beyond “I should have as much power as possible” makes your stated ideology a matter of convenience rather than conviction.

        Well said. If you are truly a marxist, you recognize it as a science and practice dialectical materialism and historical materialism, and so it should be impossible to break away from it like any other science. No biologist would stop believing in biology because it’s convenient.
