The maritime union says crew members of a major Carnival cruise ship allege they are being made to sleep in crowded rooms, lack access to safe free drinking water, and that some are earning as little as $2.50 an hour.
I worked on one once. I wouldn’t be a passenger, since the only entertainment is gambling, drinking and incredibly bad stage shows twice a day. At least guests only stayed a few days and not five months. I also got paid less than the US minimum wage because it technically wasn’t an American business, despite being Norwegian Cruise Line of America and based in Hawaii.

I think it depends on the company you’re cruising with. Disney don’t fuck around. I’ve heard Carnival is basically bottom of the barrel.
I don’t know much about cruises, but I’m sure it’s all very dependent on different variables.
