“There is one contingency in which I won’t reintroduce the articles of impeachment: Hegseth resigns,” wrote Republican Rep. Thomas Massie.
Republican US Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky said Wednesday that Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth, the most prominent cheerleader and architect of the Trump administration’s illegal war on Iran, will face an impeachment vote in the House of Representatives—unless he submits his resignation first.
“There is one contingency in which I won’t reintroduce the articles of impeachment: Hegseth resigns,” Massie, who unveiled eight impeachment articles against the Pentagon secretary in September, wrote following Democrats’ rout of the GOP in Tuesday’s midterm elections. Massie is expected to force a vote on the articles—which accuse Hegseth of extrajudicial killings, waging wars without congressional authorization, and kidnapping a sovereign foreign leader—as soon as next week.
The Kentucky Republican’s ultimatum came as CNN reported that a “knives-out campaign” against Hegseth intensified following the midterm elections, in which Democrats won control of the House and Senate beginning in January.
Lol kidnapping a leader is hilarious. Do like a canadian leader or slavic leader next. For like a week. I’d giggle if our prime minister just went missing and the states were like yeahhh we’re ganna eventually fire the guy or maybe charge him for this.
They can hold onto Carney for a little while. I think he’s done a decent enough job of convincing other countries to work with us. Maybe if he fucks off to the US for a while we can slow or reverse the environmental rollbacks he’s been implementing while the dust is settling. Keep rail development going though.
Commenting on my own comment, my first inclination was to say “keep the train rolling with rail” but realized that’s confusing. Immediately after hitting post I thought of a better way to keep the pun and clarity.
Whatever he chooses, fingers crossed both options end with imprisonment
as drunkenly rabid as he is, he wont go willingly
So even as unpopular as Hegseth is, would they get 67 senator votes? Even in the new congress? I truly wonder.
I think if the House presents their case for war crimes, which should be pretty trivial what with the extra-judicial boat strikes and the double-tapping on survivors and Iranian civilian infrastructure, there should be enough military-adjacent Republicans who can also read the mid-term tea leaves who would vote to convict and remove. Start picking apart the admin over the crimes and build it upwards against Krasnov.
Against hegseth? It is plausible they’d succeed. Against Krasnov? Sure I’ll take that bet.
Fun Fact: You can still impeach him after he resigns.
And then execute him for treasonous acts in a kangaroo court.
Learn the lessons of the civil war: kill every last one of them.
General Tecumseh Sherman was one of the best generals from that time period. He literally kicked ass on the battlefield.
Maybe even televise it. Delicious.
Dude needs actual consequences, not an opportunity to walk away without any
Add his name to The List.
Not sure if someone is actively maintaining the top N people that need investigation and punishment, but…
Vought, Carr, Hegseth, RFK jr, Miller, Bondi, Noem, Musk, Zuckerberg, anyone involved with ICE, all of donnie’s family, and of course, donnie himself. But I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot of high-profile scum and there are of course many, many that are lesser known that need to be hauled into court.
theil and yarvin.
Susan Wiles, the whole Doge team, Patel
Bovino needs his day in the barrel.
I agree. Although those two outcomes (resignation and prosecution) aren’t mutually exclusive.
Fun prank. Put it in video. “Psych!”
Arrest him as soon as he resigns. Send him to Guantoanamo
Trump will pardon him and I don’t think we can bring state charges. He can’t pardon impeachment, but the other things he can pardon.
Just drag the legal proceedings for 2 years while he rots in a cell
Will never happen in a country that has been committing war crimes since WWII. Rumsfeld did worse.
Kissinger…
You don’t know what Hesgeth did until after the investigation.
That girl’s school did not bomb itself.
leaked government group chat on Signal
Military strikes in the Caribbean Sea and Iran
The ouster and misconduct accusations against senior military officers (such as Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia).
Can we get a public execution out of it?
Live streamed, like he wanted.
Life in prison. Livestreamed 24/7. Let all fascist traitors spend the rest of their days in the panopticon they want to enslave us under.
The live stream would also be for his own safety because we all know how that went with Epstein
On mute, don’t give him a microphone.
Also do not let him learn how to use semaphore
A case of what brand of EOH should we send him to drown his tears?
Give him a pistol with one round a bottle of Jack.
Make it a full magazine, we wouldn’t want him to miss.
Missing could mean doing damage but not enough finish the job. And tbh, he’d deserve that
Massie waiting outside the door:

Why offer a man accused of war crimes a choice of anything? Just fuck his shit up.
A better choice would be life in prison or capital punishment.
I thought we were doing firing squads nowadays
This is not an either/or thing. Pressure him to resign and then impeach him anyway!
He’ll choose impeachment. Oh, boy! The circus is coming to town!
OR - okay OR, hear me out here - Leavenworth.
Maybe we could livestream it.
As someone who lives in Washington, I have a very different view of Leavenworth.
While Leavenworth, Washington is a nice little mountain town, Leavenworth, Kansas has something much worse, however it’s more fitting for Kegsbreath.
I looked up Leavenworth, KS…and I have no idea what you’re talking about…help a guy out?
It’s a famous prison
🙏🏾 gotcha, I should have just assumed, but didn’t want to just in case
Federal prison
Thanks fam
Packed with charm, lively festivals, delicious food, unique tours, and year-round fun
Yup! Sure sounds like a Kansas prison!
Por que no los dos?
Like, why? Why give him a choice? Why do they insist on no consequences?
Because consequences mean investigations and that would expose how the game is rigged and how every single one in politics, government and capitalist plays the system.
This is a performance, not a correction.
Because there’s no point impeaching someone who no longer occupies the position you’re trying to impeach them from?
Not where I’m going. One being impeached may then still be criminally tried.
Yes there is.
To prevent him from ever holding public office in the USA.
Clearly didn’t stop Trump.
