Republicans routed as Democrats gain powerful new leverage over Trump for remainder of his presidency

Democrats have regained control of the US Senate, routing Republicans nationwide with historic victories that will give them powerful new leverage over Donald Trump for the remainder of his presidency.

Democrats will soon have the ability to hold up not just Trump’s legislative agenda, but also any appointments he makes to his cabinet or the federal judiciary – including the supreme court, where conservatives have a 6-3 majority.

      1. Not everybody is an American, so it’s (possibly) not “your life”.
      2. There are reasons to downvote something other than the first half of a headline. For instance the second half of this headline. I would be very, very careful of assuming that “US voters reject Trump’s agenda”. It’s not only GOP rhetoric to suspect that MAGA voters can’t be bothered to get off their asses if Trump is not himself on the ballot. The situation might be completely different in two years.

        I see your points and don’t want to seem like I’m just arguing for no reason, but I would definitely generalize this to the world. The amount of damage this asshole and his merry band of psychopaths have caused extends far beyond the US. This WILL make life better than it otherwise would have been for the whole world.

        It sucks that when we elect the worst people among us to office, their damage isn’t contained within the borders of the country. He can still do damage, and the Democrats aren’t known for effectively executing on a boon like this, but at least we’re not going full pants on head, balls to the wall insane for a while.

        MAGA voters can’t be bothered to get off their asses if Trump is not himself on the ballot. The situation might be completely different in two years.

        Trump cannot run for a third term. Unless he runs for a seat in congress or a state office, he won’t be on a ballot. Maybe as vice president but his ego wouldnct allow that.

            Fortunately for us Trump is a unique draw for these people. An extremely rare mix of absolute evil and inexplicable charisma. It’s also fortunate for us he’s a lot of an idiot.
