“Our formula is the right formula,” From insisted. […] "Our platform was for the 1990s, not for the 2030s, but the principles are the same.

This man thinks that his Clinton neoliberal ideas are only not selling because of communication issues. Absolutely delusional.

“The democratic socialists want a different system. They don’t want to further democratic values. You look at their platform: they want to get rid of the Senate, the presidency, the supreme court; they want ownership of business; they want to get rid of police; they don’t want to fund the military.”

A quick list of things that are undemocratic:

    • The Senate
    • The Supreme Court

Another quick list of things that are clearly broken and problematic:

    • The presidency (has he looked around lately?)
    • The police (I’m sure those protesters are just crisis actors)
    • Military spending (as if it weren’t bad enough now we’re staring down the barrel of a 1.5T$ defense budget??)

Oh look, all of the things that he says are bastions of democracy are either inherently undemocratic or in major need of reforms.

“That isn’t the historic Democratic party. It’s not the party of Roosevelt that saved capitalism and saved democracy in the world in World War II. It’s a different ideology, it’s a different party.”

I don’t want to save capitalism. It sucks to be living in this unfettered capitalist hellscape, even if it is better that like…Sudan right now. Israel is supported because it’s a “bastion of democracy (read: capitalism) in the Middle East”, and look what’s happening because of it.

Is it? The milquetoast moderately conservative program of the Clinton-Obama-Biden-era Democrats is still overwhelmingly superior for the overwhelming majority, compared to the alternative. Insofar they are not winning every election by a landslide, it’s because people have been indoctrinated by pro-GOP and hatemongering propaganda. It’s not obvious at all that better policy proposals will win them elections if this root of the problem isn’t tackled.

Precisely this. We must fight against the true root of the problem: The oligarchs who have pushed fascism so they can continue to line their pocketbooks and make number go up.

They will continue to fund propaganda that convinces people to vote against their own self-interest our of fear and hate for made up bogie monsters.

Well the thing is that for most of the oligarchs, the Democrats (whose mainstream policies are highly pro-business) are the better option as well. However, oligarchs tend to be just as stupid as the average person, and they end up both drinking the Kool-Aid and pushing it themselves, like an ouroboros of hate.
