Exactly! “I don’t call people”. I need the 911 button and the numbers for my family and that’s it. For everything else there’s Lemmy.
… you have no friends?
I’m married and have kids. If I ever see my friends it happens by accident at church, costco, etc. One time I was flying for business and I found an old friend on the same flight. I don’t need to call them and waste their time with whatever I might think of as necessary from my neck if the woods. I don’t live in the same state or city. It’s had to make friends when you have kids to feed. Also, since your time is busy there’s little to spare for other things. Once the kids are older and I retire, maybe I’ll go actively seeking friendships.
What an odd world view. A family and friends are compatible.
I just don’t have close friends. I grew up elsewhere. You can’t have cake and eat it too sometimes. I’m too busy to have more than just saying hello if I see them my way somewhere. I’m also not that busy that I won’t stop and talk for a few minutes. I just am not gonna be driving to someone’s house or hang on the phone. There’s just too much to do.
