So you mean his audience is conservatives? I’m still confused, sorry, my question being what exactly is his audience?

Are you saying Texas = Conservatives so conservative is the audience? Or you’re saying his audience is Zionists?

I think their point is that a leftist candidate would never win in Texas, so Talarico is preferable to Paxton even though his politics aren’t ideal. Perfect is the enemy of good, and will simply slide us into a worse and worse situation. We need to make incremental improvements and organize on the local level, because the revolution isn’t happening tomorrow.

Fair enough, I only hope that time spent organizing means on volunteer services like food kitchens or parties that can help with organizing unions or rent strikes etc and not just for the democrats.

I don’t necessarily agree with his reach across the aisle style but if he does flip Texas blue I’d be impressed at least. I’m pretty far from Texas and in fact in a very blue state so I’ll admit voting is a little dif in my county, and I wouldn’t advocate against voting. I just hope it would be an incremental change. Talarico should go DSA if he wins!

That’s exactly what I mean. I don’t give a damn about the Democratic party. Organizing on the local level is for mutual aid, labor protections, etc. Local leftist (not Dems, leftists) organizations do a lot.

Well it’s nice to come around to some common ground. By “not a win for leftists” I only meant not really anything that will shift liberals to organization (in fact sometimes it seems evidence points to liberals winning = less organized action and more capitulation to the capitalist class/ratchet effect yadda yadda) But I would love to be proven wrong; that a blue Texas would actually make a difference for the left and not just create another AOC/Newsome to eye up the presidency in 8 years.

If Dems create even the most basic of polices that help the average American in Texas. Then hopefully that continues to snowball. And if it does and Texas becomes a battleground state or permanently blue. Republicans have no shot of ever winning again

Like I said I’ve heard Texas is going blue for decades and not once has it ever been close. So I don’t know if these pollsters are just dead wrong or if there’s an actual chance. I won’t believe until Dems actually win

I generally agree, regardless of which neoliberal party wins, the capitalist class benefits. However, I think placing both parties on the same playing field there is irresponsible. There is a reason all of the billionaire Epstein class is trying really, really hard to maintain Republican control. I prefer the better of two bad options over accelerationism.
