Linda McMahon, President Donald Trump’s billionaire education secretary, faced backlash on Wednesday over her plans to spend more than $43,000 of taxpayer money on new furniture for her government office as she works to illegally dismantle the department she leads, harming students across the country.

this is all in service of re-segregation and using tax money for religious grooming. including white supremacist religions.

this is already having effects. black students in liberal cities are getting worse education opportunities than their white peers.

i’d say a significant reason that about half of my wife’s classmates in her teaching credential program went into it to attempt to fix that disparity. you can only do so much without funding, but without creative people guiding the process it doesn’t matter how much money you throw at the problems in education.

        teachers aren’t the problem.

if teachers had more power, we’d have little problems and lots of little inequities, but much better outcomes for almost everyone than we’re getting right now.

i think our biggest problem is administrators thinking up “creative” (see: ineffective) implementations of poorly drafted laws, which results in them not supporting their staff, which results in students getting neither the education nor the services they need to succeed.

that may just be the school my wife’s at tho. hard to see the forest for the trees when you’re really interested in this one specific tree.

When did the US education system desegregate? School districts, school boards… these are all vehicles for continued segregation and serve no other purpose.
