Refusing to concede and trying to overturn the election result isn’t just limited to Donald Trump anymore. This past week makes clear it’s now the playbook for every right-wing politician who loses an election.

Voters have shown they don’t punish candidates for election denialism. So there is no political cost to denying elections. The reason that doing that used to be taboo is that candidates thought appearing like a sore loser would turn off voters for future elections.

Every country allowed criminals and thieves to create and consolidate their own propaganda machines that have weaponised the media and radicalised their populations for profit.

A core statistic in Americas downfall was that Fox News was the most popular cable “news” network for the majority of the last 3 decades, and frequently the most widely shared source on social media. We’re talking tens of millions of people — primarily boomers and gen x — indoctrinated with disinformation to the point they develop mental illness and narcissism.

The mental illness is spreading globally because of the continued consolidation of these propaganda bubbles, with the help of highly individualised targeting made possible by social media and data captured by surveillance capitalism.
