Former US President Barack Obama is on the campaign trail to support Democratic Party candidates. In speeches in Ohio and Michigan, he has condemned the Trump administration for policies not unlike the ones he pursued in office.
For so-called progressives to rally behind the war criminal Obama’s attacks on Trump is truly ironic. Obama thinks he has the moral authority to condemn Trump’s war on Iran, which led to Americans being killed.
Obama’s wars in Afghanistan and Iraq cost the lives of more than 100,000 Afghans and Iraqis during his two terms, as well as 2,500 Americans, yet he condemns Trump for the death of 21 US soldiers in the war on Iran.
He bombed weddings in Yemen and Afghanistan, a funeral in Pakistan and a hospital in Kunduz, along with other civilian sites, killing hundreds of people. In 2015, Obama also authorised logistical and intelligence support, including aerial refuelling, for the Saudi-led war on Yemen.
As for the “chaos” he now deplores, Obama launched the 2011 military intervention in Libya that plunged the country into years of warfare and political collapse.
The shameless Obama now pontificates on how Trump’s performance in office smacks of “tomfoolery and nonsense”.
Thank goodness yall removed that one comment. There is nothing in this article that defends Trump. Not even close. Just because you don’t support “team blue” doesn’t mean you support “team red”. That shit is stupid.
That poster seems to be going around here doing Blue MAGA things. T’is the mystical time of the year~ (election season)
I’m not quite sure I understand the purpose of this article. I mean sure we all can look at the war crimes of Barack Obama and deplore them. We can deploy a lot of the things that went on during his presidency. But no matter how you look at it this article is a defense of Donald Trump. It just is. That’s inescapable.
The “well you did it too” argument is a defensive one. By definition. So why write an article defending Donald Trump is my question I guess? Can’t think of a good fucking reason.
That’s not inaccurate I suppose…
Still feels like an odd thing to harp on in context though.
It’s not inaccurate at all? What is there to “suppose”? What better time to remind liberals and “leftists” about their hypocrisy than right before elections?
