Why are none of them saying anything about the Sadam Hussein comparison? They’re all mad about what he said and they didn’t even seem to notice the bit of it that was actually intended to be the insult.
I can’t help but feel chain-store tacky being what they took offense to when he was literally being compared to the personality of Sadam Hussain, one of the most, if not THE most, hated enemies of the U.S. my entire life up until he was killed, to be more than a bit telling. Especially considering it seems that nobody, including his most avid supporters, has ever been unaccepting/unaware of the fact that he is the T.G.I. Fridays of a president, that was part of his whole appeal to them.
The US was doing good business with Saddam until a slight misunderstanding over Kuwait, iirc. If it had been made clear to him that this would prompt a US response, he almost certainly would not have invaded. I’m sure there are a lot of theories as to why it went the way it did.
Regardless, the US has no issue supporting tacky gold-loving tinpot dictatorial narcissists when interests align. Too many US voters didn’t quite think through the repercussions of voting a wanna-be tacky gold-loving dictatorial narcissist into top office, and now they and the entire world have been paying for it.

If he said Saddam Hussain’s Palace, it would have been a compliment. The insult is that it’s chain-store tacky.
But chain-store tacky is kinda Trump’s whole deal.
It’s not his whole deal but it’s what he ends up with, because you can’t buy class.
ikr?!

Because they’re trying to turn an inconvenient and biting joke into a culture war
Maybe they don’t understand the reference?
