I don’t know why things are “as useless as a chocolate teapot”. It sounds delicious.

Because if you try to use a teapot made of chocolate to make tea, the deliciousness and the tea will be distributed over a wider area than ideal for the tea making process.

I would just lick the entire area clean of the tea and chocolate mix like the pig I am.

Didn’t someone try left-wing/liberal talk radio in the US, only discovering that, not only did it lose money (which was not unexpected) but got a negligible audience, because upwards punching at billionaires and preaching about how urgently broken the world is is a poor substitute for a two-minute-hate against scapegoats and permission to be a worse version of oneself?

There’s plenty of scope on YouTube for content creators. The bigger reason that stuff like that fails is that typically people leaning left tend to be younger and more tech savvy. Whereas people leaning right wing tend to be older and stuck in their ways and so they need content on traditional broadcast television, or they don’t watch it.

This is very true! The left leaning news outlets, such as Novara Media, use YouTube, podcasts and social media to successful reach out to a young audience. Where as my retired parents always watch the evening news on television.

Tongue in cheek, obvs, but it’s easy to forget that GB News hemorrhages cash and can only function because a bunch of foreign billionaires provide it with an unlimited cash stream, a form of financing that only right-wing extremists can call upon, sadly. Does make me wonder, though, why Ofcom doesn’t have rules about channels being viable, lest they become puppets of their paymasters…

GB news violates Ofcom on a daily basis, but they just don’t bother to enforce their own rules.

For example they’re not really supposed to be calling themselves a news organization unless they conform to editorial standards. Yet they call themselves a news channel all the time and Ofcom just sit there.

If I were Labour I’d be hauling them in front of a select committee. The bias and ridiculous double standards are blatant.
