Pause AI, stop AI, slowdown, pacing the frontier, they are all smokescreens, rationalizations, or ways of watering down this plan. This is why there is never any real “after we pause”, or “we will unpause when”; this is the only actual plan, and the public front for the plan cannot say this because it is too stupid and too offensive to be spoken in public, except by Yudkowsky himself, who never stops talking and who is too ridiculous for anyone on the outside of Effective Altruism to believe that everyone listens to him.
