This also happens to be the largest voting bloc in the US. There is a lot of vested interest in controlling what this demographic sees.
Not to say that they don’t care about other age groups, hence why they also focus so much on the algorithm. But it’s simpler to manipulate more voters by just saying the right things on the evening news.
