immich is definitely simple; i set it up and run it side by side with google photos for now just while i’m testing.
the big thing is data redundancy. since you’re in charge of backups of all your photos (which are stored on disk) you want to have a double backup strategy to back up everything two places.
the app itself is just a relatively lightweight docker compose file; if your system is lightweight you might want to turn off the machine learning part (which basically is how you search for faces, etc)
