My guess is they’re scared of him and how much further he could go.
They’re just shit-scared because of the toxicity and weakness of Paxton as a candidate. They’ll try to rig the vote, but they might not be able to overcome Talarico’s advantage from not being a corrupt, lying piece of shit criminal.
