Antisocial behaviour on buses in England could lead to fines while a new campaign is also being launched for trains. A national campaign asking rail passengers "share the carriage, not the noise" is being launched.

I mean i am just half joking, to me this is really a non issue. And also it usually isn’t rich people who do this.

making being in public unpleasant for others, especially in a confined space and especially when it’s 100% elective to be unpleasant, is bad.

Exactly. It’s a way to announce to everyone that you’re a selfish wanker. Some of us are tired or stressed and some of us have sensory issues. I’ve had to get off buses/tubes before because of people triggering my misophonia or being too loud when either chatting on their phone or playing audio out loud. It’s bad enough having to move to a different deck because of creeps making me feel unsafe, I don’t need this extra obstacle to using public transport too. Using headphones is just the considerate thing to do.

They don’t stand for this crap in Japan. You chat loudly on a phone, you get death stares from everyone.

May a thousand Bluetooth speakers bloom on public transportation.

General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think “reputable news source” needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
