Unlike the raid on John Bolton, which was roundly condemned by corporate media, NYT, Washington Post, and WSJ are silent on Trump’s overstep with Omar.
Unlike the raid on John Bolton, the targeting of Omar has elicited zero condemnation from NYT, WSJ, and Washington Post.
Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic leadership helped pave the way for this islamophobic, racists, anti-feminist attack on Ilhan Omar. Nancy Pelosi claimed Ilhan Omar anti-semetic, when Omar criticized AIPAC and their outsized role in US elections. That was a multi-week news cycle liberals will almost certainly have memory holed by this time. Democratic leadership floated an effort to censure and paved the way for this attack, and to normalize these kinds of attacks of women in power, of brown people in power, of immigrants in power.
Liberals pave the ground for the role out of fascism.
That’s an interesting misstatement of his point. He’s a radical socialist arguing that capitalism can naturally end a different way than fascism. That’s not exactly arguing for capitalism.
ITT: multiple americans that could not comprehend this from reading. I don’t think school failed them, they were not paying attention and failed themselves.
I’m just tired of being told by liberals who want to wash their hands that their politics play no role in this.
You don’t get fascism without liberal parties playing nice with fascists. Normally this is when I’d call ol boy @PugJesus@piefed.social in to back me up with the historical context, because we already went through and dealt with this.
Fascism doesn’t happen when you have a lib or socdem party who resists it at any cost. Fascism happens when, over time, the corporate party thinks they can place nice with the fascist party. The libs end up focusing on sabatoging the socialist parties because they see fascists as better partners to capital. And inevitably the libs get run over once the fascist have been allowed to cultivate enough power.
Jeffries and a few other Dem Reps did put out a statement defending her (arc). They could and should be doing more interviews and posts and keeping the focus on this , and they’re extremely suceptible to the kind of ground paving behavior you’re describing, but I think some of them actually have learned something from the 2024 election and have improved a tiny bit.

The natural end of capitalism is fascism.
It can’t end any other way.
It can, you’re just too brainwashed by uncle sam’s education system to be able to see it.
So you’re a radical socialist arguing for capitalism. Got it. I’m not sure I can roll my eyes any harder…

They only exist to hold your hand and tell you it’s okay as they pull us further down with their friends from across the aisle.
