Therefore LFP batteries. No nickel needed or any rare metals. Lithium is mined in Western countries. They also have a longer life span.

    No fucking shit D:

That’s something that’s been known for decades, which is why there’s such a fight in Brazil to prevent Lula from becoming president and to ensure the right-wing Bolsonaro wins. And they’re going through Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia… In Mexico they also wanted to do the same, but rare earth elements were nationalized, leaving them protected, however, it’s good that a newspaper like The Guardian is doing a news article about it.

I don’t know why you got downvoted, as you’re completely correct. Here in Brazil we have two candidates: Flávio “I’ll sell the country to the USA” Bolsonaro, and Lula “our country is ours”. And it’s easy to see which one is getting support from the USA. Just this week it was proved that Meta was negatively impacting the social media reach of posts about Lula, while their Meta AI was outright refusing to make content about Lula.

Me neither. I guess they think I’m a conspiracy theorist or something.

It’s clear the US wants to install its puppet so it can overexploit the resources of Brazilian basins. And not just Meta, but every corner of the internet owned by those fascist bastards. But I’m hopeful those idiots won’t get through. Bora Lula!

Not to downplay this, but so is Brazilian beef, which most people seem happy to turn a blind eye to

I am not so much pissed at these companies than I am at corrupt shithead governments that allow the countries they are sworn to protect to be exploited. They fuck their and to some degree the future of the whole planet over for short term gains.

Yes, it’s a systemic fault of our western countries to exploit others. But ultimately our western systems only work because corrupt shitheads in other words countries allow the exploitation.

Ya you could say the same thing about those Congolese soldiers that took bribes from american and belgian capitalists to kill Patrice Lamumba and those Chilean soldiers that took bribes from american capitalists to kill Salvador Allende… Or even the Indonesiam soldiers who took weapoms and money from americans just to kick out Sukarno and then slaughter their own Indonesian neighbours…

I find it odd that tje often exploited peoples are the ones who are most OK with their exploitations…

    Article should be like…

Ford and Tesla batteries linked to destructive deforestation of indigenous lands

Aspiring to reach way down to the lowest bar, Ford and Tesla are doing Volkswagen things. But a spokesperson from VW pointed out every other impact the corporation has had on the environment in the last three decades, stating, “Halt mal mein Bier.”
