Not doing their job was their job. Not opposing Trump was helping Trump. The safest way to sabotage something is to not help when you can.

If the Republicans get stomped in the midterms they’ll get productive on fucking things up in the time they have left before the changeover.

Shocking that the people saying the government doesn’t work didn’t do any work when they became the government. Who could have seen that coming? They’re just executing their plan to “starve the beast”. By reducing its funding until it’s so ineffective that they can claim it doesn’t work then privatize and make money from the services all while providing a worse service.

Yeah the same dimwits apparently really thought “doge” was going to be able to trim the fat or something. Or at least pretended to believe so that doge could further monkey wrench things, do a fucking terrible job, make government function worse, and then proclaim that as further “evidence” of their stupid ideas about “big government”.

DOGE had two points. Number one was to gut all the agencies that were investigating Elon so hard that they would have to drop them. Number two was for Elon to extract as much data as he could. It was a smashing success for the South African.

When the military budget wasn’t the top line item it was clearly and indisputably bullshit.

Yeah, first order of business (besides stealing data and giving back-door access to Elon and probably Russians and who the hell knows who else) was to:

…kill millions, many of them children, by cutting USAID. Probably one of the best soft power programs we had, besides the obvious benefit of saving lives.

It was not even treated remotely seriously when you see that they sent in teenagers to “fix” the government. I mean, what even the fuck.

    Not so!

The republican congressmen told more lies, sucked more trump butthole, committed insider trading felony after insider trading felony, and fleeced America for more tax dollars THAN EVER BEFORE IN ALL OF AMERICAN HISTORY.

That’s probably not your definition of “productive” though, is it?

Yeah, all those stupid conservatives that control Congress believe in unitary executive theory, and then some. They probably view things like Congress and SCOTUS as window dressing, hate democracy as a general rule, and pine for a authoritarian ruler.

There’s always a parliamentarian or a “blue slip rule” to help the Democrats steal defeat out of the jaws of victory

I mean given that the article has a graph clearly showing a trend of Congress’s declining productivity over time, the short answer is literally “yes.” The slightly longer answer is “yes because of the filibuster.” You could also add “executive overreach” if you’re feeling brave.
