the fastest way to uninstall a program is to wipe the entire drive
You kid but the fastest modern way to “wipe out” a phone or an encrypted hard drive is to destroy its encryption key. It shouldn’t last more than a few milliseconds.
I’m surprised GraohrneOS don’t have a blog making a play on this and the SQLite being faster than the filesystem (because it can skip most of the work using a single already open file)
Some modern hard drives transparently encrypt all data with an internal key, which can be erased with a special secure erase command. Comes in handy for wiping drives without spending hours overwriting the enire disk.

How does a hard drive include enough processing power to encrypt/decrypt things without having any impact on read/write times?
Dedicated chips are really fast! They do one thing fast.
What do you mean? Even a $1 microcontroller can do stuff like that nowadays.
The hardware variants have a chip onboard that can do that when the user enables it. Hence essentially no impact on performance.
