Heard the same thing before and then a few weeks later Trump was
strollinghobbling on up to the White House steps.That being close to taking a majority is big news should be embarrassing. Should have been there to start with. Stop hyping up a failure, just do it.

Exactly what I meant. Not to show my age, but anyone else remember the punchline of the SNL skit of the Bush Sr./Dukakis debate? Dukakis is asked if he has a response to the stupid Bush lines being thrown out, and he says “I can’t believe I’m losing to this guy.”
Except these days the Democrats are so not self-aware that they’re celebrating a win and shooting themselves in the foot doing it. Again.

A comprehensive list of the meaningful changes Democrats will enact when they control congress:

They can start the hearings and impeachments.
They’re not gonna do that shit, dude. They don’t give a fuck.
They impeached him twice during his first term. Only US president to have been impeached more than once.
Yeah and that accomplished bupkis. The horrors continued unabated and when their turn came to be in charge they didn’t dismantle the tools used to create those horrors nor did they install any safeguards against them being used for horrors in the future.
It made no material difference. That’s the DNC way.
Any little bit to slow anything down. Would you rather they do nothing than do something within their power?
At no point did I suggest they should do nothing, what I said was that what they do indeed do makes little to no difference in the material conditions of the society they rule.
Seeing the DNC act like they’re actually opposed to what’s going on when they do so very little to change the course of history feels like someone spitting in your face and saying it’s raining.
That’s lamentable.
I’m sure you and I both agree that DNC leadership needs to change.
But for the immediate future, for the 120th US Congress, I hope that they put every little bit of stress on Trump and his administration that they can even if they don’t make any material changes. Any little bit of sand in the gears. Help people to survive two more years and then we keep fighting in 2028, 2030, and beyond.
You realize an impeachment is only an investigation and is meaningless?
Impeachment is a process that’s unlikely to result in removal, but if it at the bare minimum just pisses people off then I’d rather have that done than nothing.
There is nothing about impeachment that results in a removal.
‘pissing people off’ isn’t a function of a healthy government.
