In the continuing race to see who can throw transgender people under the bus most quickly, South Carolina Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Annie Andrews has released a new direct-to-camera campaign ad in which she states that she does not support trans athletes playing in sports that affirm their gender identity.

Supporting trans people is a winning issue for Democrats but it’s not for conservative Republicans.
This election specifically Democrats are hopeful they’d get votes from a large portion of traditionally Republican voters so they are pushing a bit on Trans to please Republicans but not too much that they lose their Democrat voters
That’s not just this election. That’s been every election in my memory. They cling to this strategy, even though it keeps failing.
Clinton rode third way into office and the party hasn’t been able to move on since then.
It never works, buuuuut maybe this time will be the exception. -Dems
Schumer bangs on about having an imaginary Republican couple in his head dictating his every action. If that isn’t a big fuck you to the people who vote democrat I don’t know what is.
Surely this time they’ll want a watered down version of the thing they keep going harder on!
But at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. It’s what they do on all of the “controversial issues” since the dawn of time. Biden and Obama both ramped up deportations and poured more into the border than anyone before them. What did it get them… all republican voters still believe they had “open borders”.
Appealing to no one, you say? Can’t see how this strategy could fail yet again!
‘Pushing a bit’
What a way to phrase it.
With Republicans running the state house and senate, has two republican US senators and six of the seven house delegates are republicans this may be a stance you need to take to have a chance in South Carolina.
No one that cares about this is going to be convinced by this remark. It gains nothing. The only response that could possibly convince them is to reject the premise. Stay on message.
‘I don’t respond to immature internet bullies. No one cares about what they have to say. People are struggling and need Washington to listen to them for once instead of pushing made up culture wars. That’s why in this race. I’m running to ensure that Washington spends less time and money bombing children overseas and more time and money helping Americans here at home. Food prices are too high. Home prices are too high. Healthcare prices can’t even be defined until after a bill arrives. The American people are tired and want real change, not a continuation of what got us here’
