In the continuing race to see who can throw transgender people under the bus most quickly, South Carolina Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Annie Andrews has released a new direct-to-camera campaign ad in which she states that she does not support trans athletes playing in sports that affirm their gender identity.

The alternative is sadly a Republican, which is even worse.

These people need to make their hate known before the midterms so they can be kicked out, now trans people are stuck waiting through 4 years of transphobic hate before they can try anything.

No, I’m unconvinced. I think I’d rather have Nazis be blatant Nazis than liberals pretend they aren’t Nazis while enabling Nazis.

It started when he was more popular than them because nobody likes moderate Republicans and the party was kind of in the dumpster. It’s persistent because he gained a strangle holder and can threaten the primary anyone. What the Republican Party even looks like after Trump dies of old age I have no clue. It’s been the Trump party for years they have to reinvent themselves

This election is to fill the vacancy left by Lindsay Graham (rot in piss), in case anybody was wondering like me why it wasn’t six.

Some days I think. Do I just need to run for a political seat. I mean. For fucks sake.

Can we just get someone normal with baseline ethics ?

I don’t want to go into politics.

It looks boring as hell and you have to listen to complaints all day and threats from corporate brats calling your office.

      And the smear campaigns.

But I mean. Someone needs to do the job right.

Maybe someone who doesn’t want to do it is the right person.

      Idk.

Sometimes I just think about that.

I don’t have any past b.s to be brought up. All my old nudie pics are from peak years. So even if someone shared those it would probably help me get elected not hurt me.

Idk. Sometimes I think maybe I should just try. My whole angle would be.

“I don’t want this job. But y’all keep fuckin it up. So here we are.”

      Or

“Move aside. I’ll fix it myself, fuckwits”.

I have a cynical sense of humor. Some people might relate but Id probably piss a lot of people off.

I’ve been trying to tell all my friends how they need to run for local offices. Hell, half of those small positions aren’t even opposed.

      easy wins. Cushy state job.

Sit there and make it hard for people to get away with b.s. slow down the fascist. And help the progressives.

You can do that at any level of government if you play your cards right.

No. Her winning is worse than the Republican winning, at least for trans people. This is an infection in the Democratic Party, and every TERF Democrat that wins spreads the infection even more.

Just imagine telling a black person they had to vote for someone that supports segregated drinking fountains, all in the name of "the greater good.’

One side is literally commiting genocide against us.

The other side is slowly leaning towards it.

Yes it’s bad to let that leaning towards look like a winning strategy to be replicated, but that is something we can potentially fight at the next midterms. We cannot fight it however if we are all gone.

Good sweet baby Jesus on a Pogo stick sipping on a monster energy! When one candidate wants segregated fountains and the other wants a return to slavery, it isn’t rocket science!

Are you black? Do you know how black people voted in these times? Or are you parading black people around as your morality puppet, imagining for yourself “how it probably went”?

It isn’t and they already explained exactly why. Her winning further erodes the only semblance of trans support in our government.

How have Democratic voters still not learned that constantly “lesser of two evil”-ing the party to the right is a long term self-destruction?

            Voting Democrat: long term self-destruction.

Voting Republican: immediate self-destruction. This is not better. This is worse.

You don’t have to say that a Democrat winning is “worse” than a Republican winning in order to criticize the Democrats.

Once again, read the comment you originally responded to. This specific Democrat is running on a platform that has no place in the Democratic Party. If we allow it, we are worse in the long run than a Republican winning this seat.

You should read Letter From a Birmingham Jail and try to understand which part is about you.

Also you realize those aren’t the only two choices right?

Yes, and that fact is irrelevant to the statement “Her winning is worse than the Republican winning”

They are the only two choices right now. No one else is on the ballot, the Senator will be Andrews or Lindsay Graham’s sister.

The time to make other choices was the primary. Andrews’ two opponents each raised barely 1/100th of the campaign support, and Andrews won that primary 62:30:8. Continuously re-running primaries and making best the enemy of better is how we keep getting worst.

Harm reduction is when a liberal kills you politely.

now trans people are stuck waiting through 4 years of transphobic hate

The difference I’ve seen between cis-activists and trans-activists is that Trans people are done waiting.

I see more direct action in an LGBTQ aligned street corner than a No Kings parade.

Trans people will keep being trans. They’ll keep helping each other transition. Fuck the law. Fuck the cops. And fuck any liberal fascist politician who tries to stop them.

The article points out she used to not be transphobic, electing “good” Democrats only does so much when the whole party is controlled opposition
