Andrews — a physician who has previously stated she does not support access to gender-affirming surgery for minors or the ability for transgender athletes to participate in women’s sports — is running for the U.S. Senate “because families are struggling in ways that we should never accept as normal.”
Other centrist Democrats who think they can sidestep controversy over trans rights by throwing them under the bus should take note—if you’re going to get attacked regardless, you might as well stand up for their rights from the outset.
Surgery for minors? Need some real clarification on that one at least.
This is the most thorough analysis of the issue I’ve seen—though it’s embedded in a wider discussion of the political misrepresentation of science:
Thank you.
I had not seen her before.

It’s South Carolina, this is the best we’re going to get I think. At least she’s a physician and knows this is the only treatment for severe dysphoria.
He could have said anything about affordability, food costs, ending wars, fuel costs - nope, just small minded pedo thoughts
Surprising no one
I was surprised… Wait, no, actually it’s just an allergic twitch.
One of these days he’s gonna use the n-word.
And there will be no consequences for that, either.
I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t slipped out at some point. You know he uses it in private.
No one will care, it’s expected at this point. Many people have said he says it between friends.
RCP currently puts Graham up 2+% over Andrews, which - if you’ve heard Darline Graham talk including her vacuous, embarrassing Jack Smith hearing questions - is pretty sad. At least the GOP is on track to lose the senate (as long as democrats don’t mess it up, which they probably will).

I wouldn’t rely on RCP or give them any traffic. Not saying the polls are wrong per se, but that site took a very, very dark turn several years ago.
I’d love to know of a better poll aggregator, I’m aware they’re right-leaning but not sure what’s more reliable after 538 (itself not perfect) disappeared.
Trump saying his stooge won’t let you down basically tells me that they support the high gas prices, the high RAM prices, and the degradation of US infrastructure. Hopefully the people of South Carolina see that and tries to turn their state blue (or do you say purple when it used to be red?).
These people have voted in Graham for decades. I hope they prove me wrong though. I have real hope that the turnout could be decent and that could be enough.
Trump said something hateful? That’s news?
My brain -> mouth filter isn’t particularly effective but even I can keep the intrusive thoughts out of casual conversation
