The main challenge is that California is full to the brim with federal military bases.
You say that as if there aren’t Californians and other Blue Staters within and around those bases. Just because those facilities are Federal, doesn’t mean everybody is suddenly mindcontrolled into doing Trump’s bidding.
That could be a problem for them as well, its not inconceivable that said bases could end up being surrounded and isolated or otherwise dealing with defection. Regardless it’d be a complete shit show, but I suspect theyd face some level of issue from mixed loyalty, breakdown of morale, or people going AWOL outright.
