    when business owners come out with shitty takes like this I suspect their business is dying anyway and a bike or bus lane isn’t going to change that. they’re simply angry boomers who don’t understand change.

    This exact thing happened in Portland OR in Inner SE, ~2010. It was a butcher shop if I recall correctly, covered by BikePortland, but now I can’t find a link. The bike lane was installed despite the owner’s best efforts. Sales went up, and he still went on record as continuing to oppose the bike lanes despite increased business. Mind-boggling.

    One of the proprieters I know had this exact complaint when the parking was removed from in front of her store for a bike lane.

    It’s like 8 blocks of small shops directly abutting each other and the only way to see all the shops is by walking around. Too bad there’s still 4 lanes separating the shops on either side of the road.
